Flow like Water - The unique story of Janina Zeitler

From the mountains of the Alps to the waves of the ocean, Flow Like Water follows Janina Zeitler’s path into becoming
the first professional surfer born and raised in Germany, a journey shaped by discipline, challenges and the quiet persistence
it takes to build something that didn’t exist before.
"Flow like Water" is not about arriving. It is about continuing to move.

Flow Like Water is a short documentary about finding direction where none seemed possible.

Born and raised far from the ocean, Janina Zeitler’s journey into professional surfing began without any path or role model to follow.

The film explores what it means to pursue a vision against geography, expectation, and limitation, tracing the years of discipline, sacrifice, and self-belief required to turn an impossible dream into reality.

More than a sports story, Flow Like Water is a portrait of persistence, identity, and the quiet strength it takes to stay committed when progress is slow, uncertain and unseen.
Entirely self-funded and independently produced by JZ Media, Flow Like Water was created without a traditional production budget.

The project grew organically over time, driven by long-term vision, trust and commitment rather than resources.

The film premiered as part of the Bavarian Outdoor Film Festival and was subsequently screened in over 50 cinemas across Europe, reaching audiences far beyond the surf community.

The project marked an important step in shaping the visual language and storytelling approach that continues to define JZ Media today.
